Bachelorette Becca Kufrin is engaged, but like her predecessors (Bachelors and Bachelorettes alike), she grappled with her emotions leading up to the final rose ceremony—to the extent she can sympathize with her ex, Arie Luyendyk Jr.
“I did develop really strong feelings for a couple of them,” Kufrin told Entertainment Tonight. “And I did fall for two guys at the end, yes.”
Ultimately, she narrowed down the selection pool and is now happily engaged. Kufrin, though, sounds like she’s significantly more resolved in her final choice as opposed to Luyendyk, who ended their engagement in favor of his runner-up. “[I love] so many things [about him],” Kufrin said this week. “Just that he put up with me through the entire journey.”
She revealed that she was “asking for a teammate, a 50/50 throughout the entire season.” IN terms of longevity in their relationship, Kufrin added: “I feel like I truly found that… So we’ll have each other’s backs through the time where we have to stay private. And then we’ll continue that and share it with the world.”
Now that she’s completed the journey herself, Kufrin now can understand a part of Luyendyk’s struggle. “Until you’re in this position, you don’t realize how much pressure there really is, and how difficult it is to navigate certain relationships,” she noted. “Because if you’re doing it right, you should be developing feelings for multiple people to really sift through every personality, every relationship, to exhaust the ones that aren’t right for you.”
The Bachelorette premieres on ABC on Monday, May 28, at 8 p.m. ET.
