Even the royals unwind with a binge-worthy Netflix series, and Princess Eugenie is no exception.
The cousin of Prince William and Prince Harry revealed this week that she’s a fan of The Crown—and proud of it. “It has been filmed beautifully. The music is wonderful,” the daughter of Prince Andrew, Duke of York, and of Sarah, Duchess of York, said at the China Exchange in London on Wednesday night. “The story is beautiful, and you feel very proud to watch it.”
The princess, 27, who’s eighth in line to succeed grandmother Queen Elizabeth II didn’t reveal whether her “granny” has tuned in to the show, though the show is about, well, her.
In a 2016 interview with Harper’s Bazaar, Eugenie alluded to her love for good television. “I’m watching How to Get Away With Murder and Outlander, my favorite,” she said at the time. When she’s with her boyfriend, Jack Brooksbank, the Princess of York enjoys an eclectic mix, including The Walking Dead.
“Maybe Game of Thrones is our next thing. I don’t watch reality shows, but I love cooking programs,” she said in the same interview. “Indulgences? Chips—fries, as you say—Diet Coke, nuts! Cashew nuts with mustard are the best, [and] Netflix.”
Eugenie isn’t the only royal who’s binge-watching shows. Just last month, Kate Middleton and Prince William revealed their ideal date night at home includes Homeland or Game of Thrones, and takeout.
Unlike her family members, Princess Eugenie has a more down-to-earth professional life as well. She works as associate director at the contemporary art gallery Hauser & Wirth in London.
