This little guy found a wedding and then, a home. A Brazilian couple was exchanging vows during their wedding ceremony last month when a surprise guest wandered down the aisle.
The pair, Marília Pieroni and Matheus Martins, originally planned to host their São Paulo ceremony outdoors, but pouring rain prevented a sun-filled ceremony followed by a night of dancing under the stars. Instead, they moved their nuptials to take place beneath a tent—and that spot was where a stray dog sought safe haven from the pouring rain.
“As the ceremony started, to everyone’s surprise, it was the dog who came in when the bridal chorus began to play,” Pieroni told The Dodo. Since the muddy stray dog hadn’t received an invitation, he was escorted outside—very briefly. The stubborn puppy again decided to return.
“The dog entered and laid down to sleep on my veil,” the bride said.
The moment lingered on the bride and groom’s hearts even after the wedding was over. By then, the stray dog had left and their search began. It took the newlyweds a little over a week to find the puppy—which they then brought into their home.
“We decided to adopt him because he is a street dog,” Pieroni shared. “It took us a long time to find him again, but yesterday, we were contacted and told [of] his whereabouts.”
They decided to name the dog Snoop. “He came home, and I showered him,” the wife concluded. “He played a lot, ate, drank water. He is very happy and slept super good the first night… We’re all very happy.”
