This is as real as it gets! Adrienne Bailon‘s ring finger is shining brighter than the Eiffel Tower following her boyfriend’s epic proposal. On Friday, August 12, The Real host announced that she is engaged to musician Israel Houghton.
While vacationing in the City of Light, Houghton, 45, waited for the perfect moment to ask Bailon, 32, to be his bride. Standing beneath Paris’ famous landmark, he took the opportunity to pop the question.
“You. Me. Oui,” the former Cheetah Girls singer wrote on Instagram along with a short video of her massive engagement ring. The emerald-cut diamond gave the Eiffel Tower – which is lit by 20,000 sparkling bulbs – some serious competition.
Even before the proposal, the duo had been living it up in the romantic city. They appeared to be blissfully in love while sharing kisses with the Iron Lady in the background.

Bailon and her beau were met with disapproval after going public with their relationship back in March. Houghton had filed for divorce from his estranged wife of 20 years only one month prior.
The Christian music artist took to social media to explain that he and Bailon were friends before deciding to explore a dating relationship. “My marriage had been over for quite some time before going public with my divorce announcement,” he shared on Facebook.
Now that they’re engaged to be married, the happy couple is looking forward to the future. “I’ve taken a giant leap of faith in asking her to share life with me forever and to give me a shot at getting it right this time,” the soon-to-be groom wrote on Instagram. “She has graciously granted my request… She said yes. Thanks Be To God. Thank you @adriennebailon for graciously loving me.”
