Is it secret wedding season? Another celebrity couple, actress Amanda Seyfried and Thomas Sadoski, revealed on Thursday, March 16, that they eloped last weekend.
Sadoski made the surprise announcement on the Late Late Show in a chat with James Corden. “We have a congratulations for you, Thomas, because Amanda… your wife,” Corden noted to his guest on Thursday night. “I just saw that at that moment then and I was going to say fiancee. When did you get married?”
“Sunday,” the Newsroom actor replied. “We eloped. We just took off into the country with an officiant and, just the two of us, and we did our thing.”
The two, who got engaged last year, are currently expecting their first child together. Prior to Sadoski’s chat, Seyfried teased her husband’s appearance on Instagram and wrote, “This nice man is going to be on @latelateshow tonight to talk about nice things!”
Sadoski went on to reveal that he and his wife penned their own vows. He also shared what he adores most about the Mean Girls actress.
“She’s the person who I love, admire and respect most in the world, and I know that you guys are close friends and so I know she would want you to know,” he gushed. “It was beautiful, it was everything that it should be, it was just the two of us talking to each other. You take the dog, you walk through the country, and you go home. And you have your wife!”
Seyfried previously hinted at a low-key wedding ceremony earlier this year. “I don’t want to be the [center] of attention,” she told Vogue Australia. “I get to go to premieres and get dressed up all the time. I went to the Met Gala last year in a wedding gown designed by Riccardo Tisci; I’ve played a bride a billion times.”

Indeed, the actress has played a bride in movies like Mamma Mia!, The Big Wedding and Les Miserables. “I got married so many times in my life—onscreen!” she said in the same interview. “I don’t want a white dress! I’ve worn so many of them. You know what I mean? The fact is, that kind of stuff is less about the ceremony and more about the commitment.”
