Skylar Astin can apparently whip up a harmonious plate. The actor’s wife, Anna Camp, looked back on an impressive meal that her Pitch Perfect co-star-turned-hubby prepared during their dating days while catching up with People this week.

“When we were first dating, I remember a meal where he set up his kitchen table with candles and he had some grilled vegetables,” she said. “There might have been some sort of stir-fry thing going on with a really lovely salad and feta cheese and olives and tomatoes. I remember that there were several different things and he was very proud of it.”

She hilariously added: “It worked out! I married him.”

Now that the actors are married, they enjoy cooking for each other. “He’s the best at making breakfast, so he’s in charge of breakfast,” she said. “And we usually do a little Tex-Mex with black beans and salsa and scrambled eggs and stuff.”

Camp, meanwhile, claims that she has a great specialty dish of her own. “I do a really good BBQ potato chip chicken,” she shared. “I crunch up BBQ potato chips and I batter the chicken in them and put some lime juice and maybe add like a splash of tequila, which is really good.”

The newlyweds, who exchanged vows last September after two and a half years of dating, say that marriage has only made their love grow. The couple married at Sunstone Vineyards & Winery in Santa Ynez, California, in a rustic wedding planned by Tessa Brand.

“It’s just an amazing thing to have this love that we’ve always had be official now,” Astin, 29, told PopSugar in a separate interview. “ It feels like we are one team and we’ve come together in such a beautiful way. And we’ve brought our families together. It’s just really another level of this journey.”

Camp chimed in: “I totally agree. I think there’s such a closeness that happens. Especially if they leave town or go away, you can look down and see your ring and feel connected to them in a way that maybe you couldn’t before.”
