Even the hidden details at Anna Camp and Skylar Astin’s wedding alluded to their aca-adorable romance!
In an exclusive new interview with The Knot, Camp’s wedding garter design, Sarah Dobson, opens up about the sweet inspiration behind the bride’s lace pieces. “She was the opposite of a bridezilla when we worked together … very light-hearted and easy,” says the owner and designer of La Gartier. “She told me that she wanted something simple, pretty and meaningful, and gave me creative control.”
Dobson first introduced herself to the Pitch Perfect actress, 33, via Instagram. “I’ve been a fan of her work for some time,” she tells The Knot. “So when she got engaged, I reached out immediately.”

Dobson did some extensive research about the pair, whose romance first developed on the Pitch Perfect set in 2013. “I repeatedly read Skylar and Anna referring to each other as ‘partner in crime’ and ’best friend,’” says the designer, “so I felt it was important to include a statement charm.”
Together, the bride and Dobson found “the most perfect” sterling-silver pendant from a luxury jewelry brand called Links of London — and the charms were delivered within a week.
“Her wedding color palette was primarily comprised of soft romantic peaches and pinks,” says Dobson. “I chose a light peachy-pink satin as the underlay with a sequined, sparkly ribbon as the overlay.”

Originally, the business owner decided to pair Camp’s custom garter with the brand’s popular Vienna design as the keepsake item — but she felt inclined to send over a new piece from the brand called the Athena.
“It’s beyond gorgeous,” says Dobson of the design, which includes opal-colored stones. “When I asked Anna which garter she preferred for her keepsake, she preferred the Athena simply because it was different than anything she’d ever seen before.”

The pieces went under the bride’s strapless gown by Reem Acra in Camp’s wedding to Astin in central California this past Saturday, September 10.
“She loved the final designs,” Dobson says of the actress, who posted photos of her garter on Instagram last week. “[Anna] has such a generous and elegant manner about her. From our brief interactions, I can honestly say that she is a very classy woman and I couldn’t be more proud to call her a La Gartier bride.”
No word yet on which man caught the lacy piece at the reception. The bride, however, couldn’t resist from expressing love and gratitude after her beautiful wedding.
“Over flowing with love and beauty today. 💗love u so @skylarastin,” she wrote, alongside a photo of her bouquet. “Thank you to everyone who made yesterday an exquisitely wonderful day for me and my new husband. I can’t Thank you enough.”
Camp and Astin both followed up on Monday and posted their first official wedding photo on their respective accounts. “We did it!!!!! Pinch me am I dreaming?!” the new wife wrote. “I love you more today than yesterday and only half as much as tomorrow.”
The groom added, “Truly on Cloud 9. I got to marry my best friend in the whole world. And she ain’t too tough on the eyes either.”
