Oops! Anna Faris says she knew Chris Pratt was going to propose months before he actually popped the question, and it’s all because he didn’t choose a good enough hiding spot for the ring.
The actress shared this week on her podcast, Anna Faris Is Unqualified, exactly how she discovered his pending proposal. “We had talked about getting married and were living together,” Faris said. “One day I found a bag from a jeweler of the floor of his truck, so I knew something was coming.”
However, the actor waited until the perfect occasion to ask her to marry him. “My whole family took all of us to Italy and apparently he lugged [the ring] all around Italy and held on to it for a couple months,” Faris recalled. “I think I knew for like seven months, and so finally he asked me on my birthday.”
The couple married in 2009, and have been quickly become one of Hollywood’s most beloved couples in recent years. Just last December, Faris joined Pratt on the red carpet of his movie Passengers and shared that he had upgraded her engagement ring.
“He just got me this ring. I know. Like two days ago,” the Mom star told E! News at the time. “I look [at it] and I’m like, ‘I can’t believe it either!’ He’s an incredibly romantic man and I’m very, very lucky.” (Faris wasn’t the only recipient of something gorgeous. “She got me a tractor,” Pratt shared at the same event. “So we’re kind of even!”)
In April, the Guardians of the Galaxy superstar received a spot on the Hollywood Walk of Fame, and his wife was the one to introduce him for the honor. “I wanted to be able to share something personal with you guys today because this is a significant moment in our lives,” Faris expressed. “Chris is getting this star and I’m honored. I’m so proud to hear when crew members talk about how much they like working with him… I love how down to earth and sort of somewhat normal he’s making all of this.”
She concluded, “Thank you for letting me speak here. Thank you for being my husband. I love you so much.”
