Anna Wintour’s daughter, Bee Shaffer, is engaged to Francesco Carrozzini. A spokesperson for Vogue, where Winter has long served as editor-in-chief, confirmed the news to multiple outlets on Tuesday, March 21.

The future spouses, who were first linked together last fall, quietly dated before their engagement. Details about the proposal remain undisclosed to the public.

Carrozzini—a filmmaker who’s worked with Beyonce and other high-profile stars—is the son of the late Franca Sozzani, former editor-in-chief of Vogue Italia. Sozzani passed away last December after battling a year-long battle with an illness. Months before her death, her beloved son released a documentary called Franca: Chaos & Creation.

It was at that screening where Shaffer and Carrozzini first sparked dating speculation.

Following Sozzani’s death nearly three months ago, Wintour took to Vogue.com to mourn her Italian counterpart and recall their decades-long friendship.

“Gradually, however, show by show and season by season, Franca and I found ourselves falling into a friendship that I am so happy and honored to say sustained itself for 30 years,” Wintour expressed at the time. “That’s one thing that Franca taught me about friendship: Sometimes, you really have to earn it.”

The fashion force added, “In private, Franca was warm, clever, funny, and someone who could give the Sphinx a run for its money when it comes to keeping a confidence. She was also the hardest-working person I have known, and with an envy-inducing ease with multitasking. She made everything she worked on appear effortless, regardless of whether it was an event for several hundred; a whirlwind trip to Africa to support the continent’s emerging designers; or the creation of yet another newsworthy, provocative, and utterly spellbinding issue of Italian Vogue.”
