It’s real. For Ariana Grande, it’s been quite the week after news of her engagement to Pete Davidson broke on Monday. On Thursday, June 14, the songstress stepped out for a performance at the Songwriters Hall of Fame 49th Annual Induction and Awards Dinner in New York City, where she proudly sported her engagement ring from the SNL comedian.
The piece, a pear-shape diamond featuring a tiny pave diamond halo, was custom-made NYC based designer “Mr. Flawless” Greg Yuna. The ring is a 3.03 carat stone set on platinum, and it was designed over a two-week time frame.
Interestingly enough, Davidson reached out to his inner circle prior to the proposal. (He and Grande have only been dating for a few weeks.) One of his pals, Nick Cannon, gave his blessing, considering he once married Mariah Carey after a whirlwind few weeks of dating.
“He called before he was going to do it, and I said, ‘Salud!’” Cannon told Entertainment Tonight this week. “He was really excited, so I was like, ‘I love it, man. Keep it going.’ Love is in the air!”
“I’ve congratulated Pete,” he added. “I haven’t spoken to Ariana, but I’m happy for them.”
Like her fans, Grande is still stunned over her latest personal developments. “I cant believe my life rn tbh,” the singer tweeted Friday. “If i’m dreaming pls knock me the f— back out.”
