The latest Bush wedding took place at a venue almost as historic as the family itself. Ashley Bush, the granddaughter of former president George H.W. Bush and the niece of other former president George W. Bush, wed her longtime love, Julian LeFevre, at the Laguna Gloria in Austin, Texas, on Saturday, March 2.
Ashley and LeFevre, both Los Angeles filmmakers, kicked off the weekend with a themed rehearsal dinner on Friday night. According to People magazine, the welcome party, held at Mattie’s Green Pastures, had a Western theme with a menu that included Southern staples like fried chicken, pimento cheese and barbecue.
Guests were asked to come dressed in “Vintage Western attire,” which translated into fringe and well-worn leather and jeans for many guests. As an extra special touch, businessman Fouad Said was even said to have surprised the couple with a gift of two sheep decked out in Swiss bells, according to Page Six.
The next morning, the day of the wedding, Ashley and LeFevre kicked off the day—literally—with a rousing game of “bubble soccer” at a local park, which they described on their wedding website as “sumo wrestling mixed with soccer.” Following their adrenaline rush, the couple managed to sneak away for a little bit of time to rehearse their vows, and Ashley and Lauren enjoyed a special pre-wedding breakfast and manicure with their mom Sharon.
Then, the ceremony itself. The couple took advantage of Laguna Gloria’s sprawling 14-acres of gardens and wooded areas to serve as the backdrop to their stunning outdoor wedding. Ashley’s older sister Lauren officiated the ceremony, and later posted about the experience on Instagram.
“Beyond joyful for my beautiful and loving sister Ash & her new hubby Jules!” she captioned a photo of the moment Sunday. “It was an honor of a lifetime to get to officiate their ceremony yesterday. I love them to the moon and back, and wish them a very happy forever more.”

Ashley donned a classic long-sleeve lace wedding dress with sheer sleeves and an ample train for the wedding, with singer Jon Batiste performing a touching rendition of “What a Wonderful World” on the piano.
Later in the night, Ashley switched up her look to a silk halter gown for the reception with a silhouette reminiscent of Meghan Markle’s Stella McCartney royal wedding reception dress. The newlyweds danced with their guests late into the night, thoughtfully incorporating neon-lit headphones toward the end of the evening for a fun “silent disco” that took the neighborhood’s noise curfew into account.

Ashley and LeFevre have been engaged since the end of 2017, when LeFevre proposed during a trip to the Blue Lagoon hot springs in Iceland.
“Jules had planned the trip as a surprise and had just told Ashley to bring warm clothes,” Sharon told Page Six at the time. “We are all so happy and excited for them both.”
