Greene with envy. Twilight actress Ashley Greene explained how her fiance, Paul Khoury, knew to design the perfect engagement ring before proposing in New Zealand last December.

“We knew we were going to get married,” Greene told E! News at the People’s Choice Awards on Wednesday, January 18. “And we kind of discussed what type of ring [I liked]. I basically was like, ‘This is what I hate, so this is the way not to go.’”

Khoury took mental notes and got planning. “He’s very artistic and really romantic, so he actually flew in the diamond,” Greene adorably shared. “Then [he] made the band, and then had someone else put it together. A lot of time and thought [went into it].”

The result was a gorgeous oval-cut center stone set on a platinum and diamond-encrusted band.

The future bride expressed, however, that she would like to take time planning out their perfect day. “I want to enjoy the engagement,” Greene expressed. “And I feel like if tried to plan a wedding before the end of this year it would just get stressful. I just don’t want it to be that at all. I’m just going to enjoy it, you know?”

The actress, who’s slated to appear in two upcoming movies and a DirecTV series, said she plans to pick out the vendors and more after focusing a bit on her career. “I know it’s coming,” she concluded. “And then we’ll enjoy be married and that whole bit. I think this year we really want to focus on our careers and kind of starting to build our life together.”

Khoury proposed a week before Christmas while on vacation at a waterfall appropriately named Bridal Veil Falls, New Zealand.

“This is the most beautiful moment I could have ever hoped for,” Greene shared with fans 10 days later. “You’ve successfully made me the happiest, luckiest woman alive. I can’t wait to show you my unfaltering immeasurable love for the rest of our lives. #engaged #💍#loveofmylife #futurehusband.”
