Swipe right to this. The Atlanta Hawks will pick up the tab for a couple’s wedding after they met at the team’s Tinder-themed night in 2015.
The couple, Ben McCleskey and Avery Armstrong, are getting married on March 3. The pair first met when the team hosted its “Swipe Right Night” three years ago.
The Hawks’ CEO Steve Koonin made the generous offer the following year when the couple was still dating. At the time, Koonin offered to pick up the bill if they ultimately decided to marry. “Not in my wildest dreams did I think this would happen,” Koonin told ESPN on Wednesday.
“I always joked with my buddies that I would get married at the 50-yard line of the Georgia Dome,” future groom McCleskey, a longtime Hawks fan, told ESPN. “Now that that’s not in use any more, this is pretty much the equivalent.”

The pair got engaged in November. They will have a personalized wedding venue, opting to exchange vows at Philips Arena (center court of course). They will host about 200 guests and party at the venue’s new club.
David’s Bridal will be creating the dress for the bride, as well as her bridal party (there’s 11 bridesmaids), her flower girl and the mother of the bride.
