South Philly never looked so fine. Comedian Aubrey Plaza took Father’s Day to the next level this weekend by serving in the wedding party of her own dad’s nuptials. The Parks and Recreation star, 32, stopped by Conan O’Brien’s show on Monday, June 19, and revealed the details behind an Instagram photo she had posted from the wedding itself.
“It was a blast,” she said of the South Philadelphia-based nuptials. “My family loves to party, and that’s what we did all night long.”
On Instagram, Plaza posted a photo of the groom surrounded by his three daughters—all looking sharp in black pantsuits. The image was taken by Wilmington-based photographer Kelli Wilke. “Happy Fathers Day to the coolest dad alive who let me and my sisters dress like this in his wedding last night…” Plaza wrote on Sunday, June 18. “#groomswomen #plazafamilia.”
She added of the image to O’Brien, “This is just your typical wedding portrait. That’s me and my sisters. We were groomswomen. We stood on my dad’s side and we wore suits. My middle sister, Natalie, was the best man.”
However, the Plaza family is rather traditional so naturally, there was some initial pushback about the groomsmaid concept. “They came around,” she said. “My grandmother was like, ‘You’re not wearing a dress?’ …She was like, ‘Why?’”

The actress, meanwhile, is no stranger to the wedding movie genre after starring in 2016 comedy Mike and Dave Need Wedding Dates opposite Zac Efron and Adam DeVine.
