Former Bachelor contestant Nikki Ferrell took to Instagram on Monday to announce her engagement to longtime friend Tyler Vanloo.
The two 29-year-olds were on vacation enjoying the snow at a winter ski resort in Colorado when Vanloo popped the question.
“And on the last day of vacation this happened!” Ferrell captioned the photos showing her shocked reaction to Vanloo down on one knee. “I can’t wait to marry my best friend. Over the moon happy right now!”
Ferrell had shared several images of their “winter wonderland” adventures including “A little New Year’s Eve snowshoeing through the San Juan National Forest” where she affectionately referred to her now fiance as her “favorite snow bunny.”

Ferrell had beaten out all the other ladies on season 18 of The Bachelor to win the affection of the controversial Juan Pablo Galavis who notoriously did not propose nor say “I love you” on the season finale or After the Final Rose special.
Even after the couple tried to fix their relationship on VH1’s Couple’s Therapy the pediatric nurse and Galavis had split last year. “It’s not from a lack of trying on either side,” Ferrell told Chris Harrison during the season 19 Bachelor premiere, “It just ended because of a difference of lifestyle.”
“It’s just I’m a nurse in Kansas City, he lives in Miami and is in the entertainment industry. That’s his job. That’s his lifestyle,” she explained on the premiere last year. “It was really hard for me to fit into that. We gave it a good try, but we’re two different people.”
It’s unclear when Ferrell and her new fiance Vanloo started officially dating, but there is definitely a long history of friendship between the two. Back in October the reality star posted a three photo “Throwback Thursday” set of the couple indicating their love has been growing for years.
“Sneaking in a #tbt from a couple years ago to when this guy was my best friend and I wouldn’t really admit to anything more…” she captioned the photo, “but we all knew.”
Congrats you two!
