Enough with the surprises—at least this week. Bachelor Arie Luyendyk Jr. shocked everyone when he pulled a fiancee swap on national television, and again when he proposed to his runner-up, Lauren Burnham, on the After the Final Rose special the following night. Now that the race car driver is happily engaged, he joked that the surprises could keep coming.
“We want to get married soon, and we also talked about eloping,” Burnham, 26, shared this week with reporters in a call.
“We’ve talked about running away to Vegas,” Luyendyk, 36, added.
The prospect of a quick wedding turnaround isn’t the only nuptial-related certainty for the couple. “We’re talking about an evening wedding or a sunset wedding,” Luyendyk noted of his future nuptials. “Lighting is important. Lots of flowers… We talked a little bit about maybe doing a TV wedding if that works with our timeline.”
In fact, the planning was already in motion even before Luyendyk dropped to one knee. “I kind of pushed him to pop the question sooner, because we’ve already been planning our wedding,” she told E! News, confirming: “We both want good lighting and lots of flowers.”
In a separate interview with Entertainment Tonight, Luyendyk said: “We plan to [get married this year].”
While the couple looks to invite several members of Bachelor Nation to their wedding, one person will be excluded from the Guest List Manager. “Becca, she’s not invited,” Luyendyk said.
