After the final rose! Bachelor Ben Higgins and his fiancee, Lauren Bushnell, will have their very own reality series, Freeform announced on Wednesday, June 22.
The new reality show, entitled Ben and Lauren: Happily Ever After, will chronicle their lives together in Denver, Colorado, and document their journey to marriage. It will provide an inside look at what happens to Bachelor and Bachelorette couples after the romantic destinations and rose ceremonies come to an end.
Higgins and Bushnell also confirmed their decision to return to reality television on their show’s new Facebook page. “Hey everybody, we’re Ben and Lauren, and we cannot wait for you to join us watching our new series, Ben and Lauren: Happily Ever After,” Higgins says in the clip. Bushnell adds: “During the show you will get a peek at our lives after The Bachelor.”
“Ben and Lauren are the biggest Bachelor couple of the last 10 years,” Freeform’s executive vice president of programming and development, Karey Burke, shared in a statement. “Their romance captured everyone’s attention, and we are delighted to continue their story on Freeform.”
The future husband and wife explained their decision to do another reality series to Us Weekly. “After you walk away from The Bachelor, it’s not like your life becomes private. People still find out what you’re doing, so it’s not changing our life to be public,” Higgins told the mag on Wednesday. Bushnell added: “We’re already used to sharing our lives with everyone else. So we thought, ‘Why not? It’s a fun way to share life after The Bachelor.'”
Higgins told The Colorado Independent in a recent interview that he’s “seriously considering” running for a the Colorado House of Representatives. “Whatever lies ahead, love, grace, and hope are ideals that guide my life. I will take them with me into my next adventure,” the reality heartthrob told the paper. “Lauren and I aren’t sure yet what that will be, but in terms of representing House District 4, Willie Pinkston is an amazing person and any decision I make regarding entering the race will be based on what is best for Willie, his family and for Lauren and me.”
Ben and Lauren: Happily Ever After will premiere on Freeform this October.
