As Good Morning America co-host Michael Strahan said, now that “the cat’s out of the bag,” Bachelorette star Becca Kufrin and her fiance Garrett Yrigoyen are able to happily go about their everyday business.
Perhaps just as importantly, with the passage of the time, the happy couple are now able to zoom out and give their personal picks for who they think should be the star of the next season of The Bachelor. Both concluded that second runner-up Jason Tartick would be an ideal candidate for the gig.
“I think he’s so charismatic,” Kufrin, 28, said. “He would be so open to all of the girls on the journey.” Yrigoyen, 29, added, “I agree with Becca … I think Jason would be great.”
As fans will remember, Kufrin sent Tartick packing when they were in Thailand following what was meant to be a romantic day strolling through flea markets. At one point during the day, Kufrin seemed to hit a wall, asking both Tartick, 29, and producers for a moment to gather her thoughts.
“I told him about the stonework [on the building], being like, ‘We should get this for our house,’” she told a producer on-camera. “But I can’t picture that with him.” Kufrin seemed to spiral from that thought, telling the producer that she couldn’t “shake the feeling that something isn’t right … I realized I can’t see him in the future.”
Despite her seemingly abrupt dismissal of Tartick at dinner later that night, the New York native remained ever the gentleman, keeping his cool as he departed, and even when he reappeared the next day at Kufrin’s hotel, he only wanted to express his love and drop off a scrapbook he had made of their time together.
Kufrin said at different points during the show and later, on Men Tell All, that she still believes that Tartick is “one of the best guys” she’s ever met—and given how classy the pair have been from the start, it’s not surprising that they wish each other the best.
