Bachelorette Rachel Lindsay‘s final rose went to Bryan Abasolo on the season 13 finale, and the Miami-based doctor celebrated the big revelation with a glowing love letter about his fiancée.

Abaloso, 37, took to Instagram to recall the romantic moment in Spain when he dropped to one knee. “Rachel ❤️ my love, my rock!! It’s felt like forever, but the wait is finally over!!!” he wrote. “No longer do I have to hide the fact that you are and always have been the one for me! No longer do I have to keep secret how in love [with] you I truly am from the rest of the world! Hearing you say ‘yes’ on the top of that castle in Spain was the greatest moment of my life!”

The chiropractor then opened up about the first portion of his engagement with Lindsay. “I was optimistic about what could be prior to stepping out of that limo but never in my wildest dreams could I had foreseen us building such a strong foundation and deep bond in the last 6 months,” he wrote. “Every single day literally gets better and better with you and reaffirms that God placed you in my path for a reason. We’ve gone through so much…the ups, the downs, the challenges…but in the end, what shines above all else is the deep love, loyalty, respect and admiration we have for each other and that’s what will continue to carry us through into our future. I can’t wait to start our new life together full of fun and adventure! I am so blessed and lucky to have you and I promise to cherish you forever! I love you baby! ❤️😍💍 #whenyouknowyouknow #thebacheloretteabc #bachelornation.”

Abasolo, like JoJo Fletcher’s final pick Jordan Rodgers, was the recipient of Lindsay’s first impression rose on the season premiere. “When I first stepped out of that limo, I knew I was in for the ride of my life,” he told Lindsay in the season 13 finale on Monday night. “When we first kissed, it was like a chemistry bomb, and I just knew that first night with 100% certainty that we definitely could be something special.”

Both Lindsay and her future husband jumped on a call with The Knot and other reporters on Tuesday, August 8. She said she was initially in denial over her final pick because he was seemingly too good to be true. “Bryan would check everything off on that list,” she said. “I was shocked when I met him.”

In an exclusive interview with The Knot in April, Lindsay hinted at the characteristics she found particularly attractive among her sea of contenders.

The lawyer, who was six weeks into her journey at the time, said her leading suitors were “direct, self-aware, confident, [and] established.” She continued, “And just this goes back to being self-aware: Guys who know exactly what they want and are so comfortable where they are in their lives right now. That has been lacking in my previous relationships, and honestly, I’ve known a lot of guys who are intimidated by me and these guys aren’t.”
