Two years ago, JoJo Fletcher handed out her first impression rose to Jordan Rodgers, a gesture that captured the couple’s chemistry from the premiere of The Bachelorette all the way to the finale when he proposed.
Fans of the couple have long awaited wedding planning updates—a date, a location, anything—and the two have shied away from sharing details about their engagement.
On Tuesday, February 12, however, the pair revealed on their series, Engaged With JoJo and Jordan, that they sat down together at the beginning of the year to discuss wedding planning, something they described as a “state of the union” of sorts.
“We said that 2019 was going to be the year that we set our date, so now we’re actively thinking about when the date is going to be,” she said. The pair decided to hold off from sharing more dates and details until Rodgers’ brother marries.
The couple added that they wanted a destination wedding likely in the spring. The wedding vision includes a plethora of greenery and florals (Fletcher said she wants no red roses) all set up for an afternoon wedding ceremony. The couple also said they wanted an evening reception that’s “gracefully lit” according to Fletcher.
“We like something outdoors, something very green… florals or arrangements or trees,” Fletcher added. “We love moss balls, vines.”
The couple added that they wanted a “mini Chipotle bar” for a late-night snack, which Fletcher has long insisted upon since her engagement.
In retrospect, the couple looks back fondly at their proposal story. “No, I’d have eight or nine cameras there. I’d probably dig up one of your ex-boyfriends so you could be like, ‘What the hell are you doing here?’” Rodgers joked. “And it would be at least 120 degrees, just so you’re sweating your butt off and you have to stand there for at least four or five hours while I’m in the air conditioning. Yeah, I’d probably do it exactly the same.”
