It would be a joy to have Bachelorette Rachel Lindsay as a bridesmaid, especially as the Dallas-based lawyer has increasingly revealed her genuine and thoughtful personality throughout season 13 of ABC’s smash franchise. On Monday, August 7, Lindsay will send two of her remaining three finalists packing before handing out her final rose. Yes, she’s engaged and the identity of her mystery fiancé will finally be revealed. Meanwhile, Lindsay’s bridesmaid should take note.
The Bachelorette already expressed that she would like to marry within the next year. In April, The Knot caught up with Lindsay in Copenhagen for week 6 of filming. Even then, the thoughtful corporate attorney knew exactly what it takes to be a solid member of a bridal party. She shares her tips with us below.
“First of all, the bride is always right,” Lindsay says. “You cannot go wrong with that.”
The Bachelorette knows from personal experience. “Most of the time when I was bridesmaid, it was for a close friend or a family member,” she continues. “I would say to just be patient. Help out when you can. That’s three.”
Fourth—“Just be a team player,” she says. “To be a bridesmaid, you really have to be a team player. Fifth—I would just say have fun. Especially for me, I’ve never been a bride… It’s about enjoying the moment.”

Along with those suggestions, Lindsay divulged yet another secret: How she maintains a flawless complexion even after a long day of filming. “It’s waterproof, water-resistant makeup,” she said. “I could’ve dunked myself in water and patted myself down and that’s it. That’s the secret.”
The three-hour season 13 finale of The Bachelorette airs Monday, August 7, at 8 p.m. ET.
