That final rose went to one of the 31 suitors! The Bachelorette proved to be a success for season 13 lead Rachel Lindsay, who confirmed to reporters on Thursday, May 18, that she’s engaged.
The Dallas-based attorney revealed her new role as a fiancée during a call. “I’m very much so in love,” she said after touching down at LAX this week following her three-month selection process. “And very much so engaged.”
She squealed, “I’m getting my happy ending!”
Prior to embarking on the journey, Lindsay—who made her reality TV debut as one of Bachelor Nick Viall’s final four contestants—said she already had a firm sense of what she wanted in a future husband. “I do not like a cocky guy. I like a confident guy,” she revealed to ET. “You can toe the line just a little bit, but I cannot stand a cocky guy.”
On the opposite end, she continued: “[I want a] guy who has good morals, and then a funny guy.”
Longtime Bachelor host Chris Harrison revealed Lindsay’s extensive list of suitors—31 to be exact—via Facebook Live on Wednesday, May 17. “They are part of the most successful, most diverse and of course, the most dramatic cast we’ve ever had on the show,” he said as he added notes about each contestant. “In all seriousness, it was such a joy to do the show with Rachel this season. She is such a sweet girl. I’m really happy with how this turned out for her.”
One thing’s certain: There will be tears and plenty of tension. Harrison teased, “There will be blood.”
The new season of The Bachelorette premieres Monday, May 22, at 8 p.m. ET on ABC.
