Rachel Lindsay’s wedding will be hers, truly. The season 13 Bachelorette revealed in a new interview that she doesn’t plan to go the traditional route when it comes to her upcoming nuptials with her soon-to-be-revealed mystery fiancé.
“I’ve never been the girl to have the dream wedding,” Lindsay told USA Today at the “Men Tell All” taping on July 21. “I can tell you my dream bachelorette party, but I cannot tell you my dream wedding.”
Surprisingly, the Texas attorney, 31, has no desire for one particular bridal component. “I personally wouldn’t want to wear a dress,” she said. “I’d like to wear a white tuxedo.”
Although Lindsay would have preferred an understated band in lieu of a flashy engagement ring, Bachelorette producers convinced her to accept a more extravagant bauble. “I’ve been very simple. I just wanted bands, just a stack of bands,” she explained. “And they said, ‘No no no, Neil Lane is not going to do that!’ So I said, ‘Okay, fine! I’ll pick a cut!’ And so I picked pear shape, which is something I really like and from there, ‘the one’ ran with it.”

Lindsay and her future husband may be looking ahead to their wedding day, but first, they can’t wait to just be an openly engaged couple. “We are so ready to be normal and be as normal as we can be,” Lindsay told the outlet. “I want to make an Instagram post just to show everybody we’re together.”
Plans for the future may be up in the air, but one thing’s for sure: Lindsay and her love are happy. “We’re on cloud nine about being engaged, so we’re just talking about how great it is to be engaged and what comes next,” she said in a separate interview with The Hollywood Reporter. “We are two happy little birds.”
Lindsay previously told The Knot and other outlets that she was shocked to find true love on the show. “Every morning, I wake up and pinch myself and I keep asking myself, ‘Is this really happening?’” she said. “At times, I feel like I don’t even deserve this because it’s like I’m getting everything that I want. And I am getting my happy ending. It’s just such a surreal experience. And I am totally humbled by it and I feel very blessed.”
