Somehow, Beverley Mitchell knew that Jessica Biel would end up with Justin Timberlake.
In fact, the 7th Heaven actress—who played Biel’s sibling in the beloved ‘90s drama—was actually a witness when the couple first met.
“I was there like the moment the love connection happened,” Mitchell, 36, told Access Hollywood Live this week. “I was like, ‘Okay, this is happening.’”
Mitchell, who’s now starring on a show called Hollywood Darlings, says Biel used to tease her for hanging out with Timberlake’s beloved boy band. “She used to make fun of me because I’d been friends with like all the guys from ’N Sync years before. She used to literally like give me so much crap!” the actress fondly recalled.
That all changed during the 2007 awards season. “They met, it was at the Golden Globes,” Mitchell added. “It was so cute because they were like… It’s that moment like, ‘I like you, I think you like me.’ It was very, very sweet. They were definitely flirting. They were really cute.”
Biel recently looked back on those initial moments in her romance. “We didn’t kiss for a very long time because he was on tour,” she revealed to James Corden in January. “And we were talking on the phone, like normal pre-teens do. We were just chatting on the phone for hours. So, we never really kissed for a very long time.”
Like Mitchell, Biel had a sense that Timberlake would someday be her husband. “I have this email that is really funny… that I sent to my producing partner,” the Au Fudge co-founder shared in that same interview. “It’s literally, like, ‘Okay, I can’t make that meeting so I have to cancel. Also, I know I will marry this man. You can’t tell anybody but your husband.’ …I don’t know what he did that day, but I have this hilarious email.”
The couple now share their adorable son, Silas. “We do a lot of play dates and when our families can get together,” Mitchell concluded to Access Hollywood Live. “There’s no work and there’s no expectations. We’re just always there for each other. We see each other when we see each other and she’s my sister for life and love and adore her.”
