He put a ring on it! Beyonce‘s longtime dance captain, Ashley Everett, got the surprise of her life on Saturday, September 10, when her boyfriend, John Silver, asked her to marry him during the Formation World Tour stop in St. Louis.
Beyonce surprised concert attendees with a live rendition of her Grammy Award-winning hit, “Single Ladies,” which the 35-year old songstress hadn’t performed since the opening night of her Formation World Tour back in April. Then, she halted the performance and announced that she was going to bring someone on stage.
Beyonce didn’t hesitate to give Silver center stage as she retreated into the background. Silver then held Everett’s hand and peaked the audience’s interest with a speech.
“She’s my queen,” the St Louis native said of his dancer girlfriend, “so I feel like it’s only right to come out here in my hometown and show you guys the epitome of a young woman that knows how to deal with all the nonsense and the B.S. of a St. Louis n–a.”
“Ashley Everett, will you marry me?” Silver asked, dropping to one knee. It was clear she said yes as the soon-to-be bride hugged and kissed her new fiance.
Beyonce began to join in the celebration, but when she realized Silver was still slipping the engagement ring on Everett’s hand, Queen Bey gave the duo another moment in the spotlight.
Beyonce then congratulated the happy couple and began singing “Single Ladies” again as the newly engaged couple’s fellow backup dancers hugged them.
Soon, Everett is dancing with the other ladies, and this time she has a real ring to display! See the sweet proposal above.
Everett and Silver will soon have plenty of time to plan their upcoming wedding. Beyonce’s Formation World Tour concludes on October 7 in New Jersey.
