Blake Shelton has a way with words! During a visit to The Ellen DeGeneres Show on Thursday, December 1, the country star opened up about his relationship with Gwen Stefani.

After congratulating Shelton, 40, on his trio of People’s Choice nominations, DeGeneres asked the singer if he was open to talking about his famous girlfriend.

“Sure, I love talking about Gwen. Are you kiddin’ me?” Shelton replied.

“You are just an adorable couple,” the daytime host gushed about the unlikely duo. “Whenever I see ya’ll together, you’re both just crazy about each other, and I’m happy for both of you.”

“It’s been just an eye-opener to be with somebody like her,” Shelton shared. “Believe it or not… she’s literally maybe the most normal person that I have ever met in my life. It’s been good for me to be with somebody that’s so grounded and just a good human being with a great heart.”

DeGeneres pointed out that Stefani is “down-to-earth” and loves spending time with her three young children.

“And she’s hot,” Shelton added. “Have you seen her?”

The award-winning host refrained from asking Shelton about a possible future wedding. While visiting Ellen back in September, Stefani, 47, managed to dodge DeGeneres’ questions about the couple’s romance.

“Before I make plans–because I make plans way ahead of time–tell me when you’re getting married. I just need to know, so I can clear that schedule,” the host joked.

“Oh, you’re crazy,” Stefani replied, shaking her head and smiling. She promised to let DeGeneres know of any future developments.

The famous couple began dating back in 2015 after public break-ups from their respective spouses, Miranda Lambert and Gavin Rossdale. Shelton felt a connection with Stefani from the moment they met on The Voice.

“I had to sit down and go, ‘Look, by the time this thing airs, my life will have completely changed, and we need to talk about this now, because it may affect what we talk about on the show,’ he said during an interview with Rolling Stone back in June. “I just felt like there doesn’t need to be secrets.”
