No gals? No problem! Rebeca Sinohara, a 24-year-old computer engineering student from Itajubá, Brazil, had one week to go before her wedding when she realized that there was just one thing missing in the lead-up to her big day: she didn’t have any close female friends to take wedding prep photos with.

“Of course I have girlfriends from childhood and high school but we are not as close as before, and there are some girls that I lived with in shared housing during university, but none of them I became BFFs with,” she told BuzzFeed News. “I always knew that I wouldn’t have a gang of girls to be bridesmaids and to sit together putting on makeup and all before the event.”

Sinohara’s clever solution: to ask five of her best male friends, her “bros,” as she put it, to take on the role of her bridesmaids. “They are really great friends, and I had no doubt they would do this for me,” Sinohara said, adding that “the guys totally loved the idea right away.”

Initially, Sinohara thought the concept would be simple: Ask her pals to wear pink silk robes and pretend to tend to her as she got ready for her wedding. Maybe they would all snap a few photos on their cell phones for memory’s sake and later look back and laugh at the experience. But, she told BuzzFeed News, her makeup guy got involved and the shoot took a more dramatic turn.

In several hilarious images that Sinohara shared to Facebook, her bros — Murillo Bargas, Bruno Fernandes Lopes, Fernando Granço, Victor Brocchi, and Igor Borges — gamely celebrate Sinohara’s big day with her by taking shots of Vodka, shaving their legs, relaxing with cucumbers over their eyes, and faux-primping her for the ceremony.

Sinohara’s fiancé, Renato Sinohara, even got in on the action in one final photo, which shows him getting smothered with hands and kisses as his gleeful bride waltzes away with wedding dress in hand.

“He was there during the photo shoot laughing the whole time,” she said. “We all had a lot of fun in that day.”

Sinohara posted the photo shoot to her Facebook page, along with the caption, “When the bride doesn’t have any girlfriends, it’s time to call her bros. This is what happens to a girl in Computer Engineering,” and the post went viral. As of Wednesday afternoon, the photo album has been shared more than 50,000 times.
