These newlyweds nixed their first dance for a more iconic and thrilling endeavor: a Star Wars lightsaber duel.
In the latest viral wedding video, a bride and groom channel Jedi and Sith characters when they pull Star Wars lightsabers from underneath the head table and start their choreographed fight.
In lieu of the traditional right of passage for their wedding reception, the groom swung his red lightsaber at his wife, who answered with a block from her green lightsaber, never once tripping on her floor-length wedding dress.
The bride told Inside Edition, “We didn’t go as fast as we wanted because we didn’t want to hurt each other.”
The duel, fought to John Williams’ cinematic score, lasted three minutes, with the Star Wars fans not fighting to the death, but to a sweet kiss.
“It was so much fun and we both didn’t want it to end,” the bride recalled. “It felt like being part of Star Wars movie scene with the music.”
The newest Star Wars installment, Episode VII: The Force Awakens, opens in theaters December 18.
