Brb, crying. One bride received a rather emotional wedding gift from her late mother, which was revealed in a recent viral Facebook post.
The to-be-wed, a woman named Emma who resides in Leicestershire, England, celebrated her engagement in 2016 while her mother was battling terminal lung cancer. While Emma wanted her mom to be present for her wedding day, the mother of the bride passed away in 2017 before the wedding date was set for August 2019.
Shortly after her engagement, Emma had commissioned a bespoke shoe company called Lace and Love to design shoes for her wedding day.
“In the meantime and unbeknown to her, her mum who was terminally ill contacted me to pay for them,” the business owner wrote on Facebook. “She also sent me a message to include on the soles which I kept secret throughout the whole process along with the fact her mum had purchased them for her. Sadly her mum passed away before the shoes were finished but we sent them out last week and I had a very emotional phone call when the client received her shoes.”
On both soles of the shoes, the bride’s late mother etched a thoughtful and sweet note to her daughter that would carry her through her summertime nuptials.
“Wanted you to have a gift from me on your wedding day. Your wedding shoes are my gift to you,” the note read. “Hope you have a magical day. Lots and lots of love and big hugs, MUM xxxx.”
Lace and Love’s note ended with an uplifting message. “What a lovely thing for this mum to do and I know these shoes will carry an even more special meaning to this client,” it concluded. “Her mum will be right with her on her wedding day.
