When you know, you know… which was exactly the case for Brooks Laich. The NHL player was confident he would marry Julianne Hough, even before the couple started dating, he revealed via Instagram.
The couple married last July in Idaho in a scenic lakefront ceremony, and flew off to Paris this week for a romantic getaway. While awaiting takeoff in the airport, Hough pressed Laich to reveal one particularly sweet and unknown snippet about their relationship.
“You knew you were going to marry me before I was even your girlfriend,” the Safe Haven actress said to her husband as she secretly filmed him from the side.
“One hundred percent,” Laich replied, before eying her phone. “I measured your ring before we were even dating. Before you were even my girlfriend, I measured your ring.”
“Oh hot damn,” Hough captioned the clip on Instagram Stories. “I [love] you.”
The two eventually landed in Paris and went on to enjoy dinner atop the Eiffel Tower. ”Little date night with my wife at the top of the Eiffel Tower. Good way to kick off a few days in Paris!” he noted.
The two have enjoyed numerous international trips since their nuptials, including a honeymoon in the Seychelles followed by a safari trek in Kenya.
“I’m officially married to the love of my life!” Hough expressed of the nuptials on her blog. “To be surrounded by that much love was a feeling that will stay with me forever. After all the fittings and tastings and planning, I thought I had an idea of what our wedding would be like but I can certainly say our big day completely surpassed my wildest dreams. It was just beautiful.”
