Spotify CEO Daniel Ek married his longtime love, Sofia Levander, on Saturday, August 27, at Lake Como in the Lombardy region of Italy. Silicon Valley’s finest flew to the beautiful location to witness the couple exchange vows.
Among notable guests was Grammy Award-winning artist Bruno Mars. The talented singer not only attended the nuptials… He was the wedding singer!
Ek’s business mogul friend Mark Zuckerberg and his wife, Priscilla Chan, also shared in the newlyweds’ special day. Before making their way to Rome for a town hall Q&A – and to meet Pope Francis at the Vatican – Zuckerberg posted a heartfelt message about the groom.
“We’re at Lake Como in northern Italy to celebrate the wedding of our good friends, Sofia and Daniel Ek,” he captioned an image on Facebook of he and his wife with Ek. “Many people know Daniel as one of the great European entrepreneurs — the founder of Spotify. I know him as a great friend and dedicated father.”
At only 33, Ek has been dubbed the most important man in the music industry by Forbes. He shares two children with his wife.
