Carrie Underwood and Mike Fisher marked seven sweet years of marriage by celebrating their wedding anniversary on Monday, July 10, with a romantic date night.
The country superstar posted a photo with her smiling husband to commemorate the occasion and posted it to Instagram. “Celebrating 7 years with this amazing man,” she wrote. “How am I so blessed to share this life with you, @mfisher1212 ? Here’s to so many more years and memories together…”
Nashville Predators Captain Fisher, like his wife, also took to social media to document the special day. “Glad I took a chance on this babe 7 years ago,” he wrote, alongside a photo of Underwood smiling and showing off her large yellow diamond engagement ring. “Turns out she’s the best wife, and mom to Izzy, I could ever dream of!! #happyanniversary.”

That chance, of course, was when Fisher first introduced himself to Underwood at a fan meet and greet in 2008. (No, really!) Underwood recalled that fateful meeting last November to Tyler Oakley, telling the show host that she wasn’t initially into the idea when a mutual friend suggested they connect.
To alleviate any pressure, Underwood suggested Fisher meet her backstage—and she found herself instantly attracted to the athlete. Later she texted their mutual friend and wrote, “hot, hot, hot.”
The two now share a 2-year-old son named Isaiah (“Izzy,” according to Fisher).
