They were Blown Away… by her sweet gesture! Grammy winner Carrie Underwood surprised her husband, his teammates and fans on Monday, April 17, before the Nashville Predators faced the Chicago Blackhawks for Game 3 of the NHL playoffs.
Unsuspecting fans inside Nashville’s Bridgestone Arena were floored when the announcer took to the loudspeaker to introduce Underwood as that evening’s performer of the National Anthem. “Please rise and welcome seven-time Grammy winner and longtime Nashville Predators fan Carrie Underwood,” the announcer boomed over the microphone.

Underwood then took to the ice in her husband’s No. 12 jersey, which includes his captain symbol, and even sported matching nail colors to express her unprecedented support for the team. At the end of the performance, the American Idol winner animatedly waved her towel with the town’s Mayor Megan Barry before exiting the rink.
The Predators won its third game of the Western Conference First Round on Monday night, bringing the team another game closer to the Stanley Cup Finals. “Smashville has completely gone crazy!!!! 3-0 baby!!! One more! @predsnhl,” Underwood expressed on Instagram.
