Quite the catch! Nev Schulman, the host of MTV’s popular series Catfish, married Laura Perlongo in East Hampton, New York, on Saturday, July 22.
The couple exchanged vows at noon in the backyard home of the father of the groom, according to People. “I never imagined I could be this happy,” the groom, 32, told the magazine. “Marrying the woman of my dreams and having our beautiful daughter there with us! I’m a very lucky man.”
Schulman and Perlongo share 9-month-old daughter Cleo. The TV personality teased his upcoming nuptials a week before the ceremony during his final tuxedo fitting. “Am I getting married next weekend? Yes!” Schulman wrote on social media. “Did I leave finding my outfit till the last minute? Of course! Is Cleo the cutest baby ever? Yup!”
The couple got engaged last May; Schulman proposed with a one-of-kind Cartier engagement ring. The groom and Perlongo subsequently opened up to The Knot about their upcoming wedding plans, the proposal, all while the future bride was pregnant with their first child.
“It’s hard to have fun at your wedding when you’re pregnant for obvious reasons,” Schulman said of his love. “We thought—because we’ve already committed to our relationship in such a significant way by having our daughter, there isn’t really a huge rush.”
They knew at the time that they wanted to involve their baby girl. “We both really like the idea of our daughter being a part of the wedding whether she’s the ring bearer,” he said. “It would be so cute to have her there and actually be a part of it and not just this kind of crying baby. We’re just going to wait until it feels right. It might be next summer it might be the summer after that, depending on if we want to have the little lady there just walking around.”

Perlongo continued to The Knot: “We look at them as two separate things. You know we’re having the baby, but we also want to get married. So it’s not like we’re trying to have a shotgun wedding.”
The couple connected, interestingly enough, on Instagram though they had mutual sets of friends. “I definitely knew from our first date that this girl was very special,” Schulman concluded last summer. “And, I’ve just been falling more and more in love with her since then.”
