A menagerie of adorable couples! On Sunday, January 8, the finest in film and television will come together for the 74th Golden Globe Awards on NBC. Ahead of the annual ceremony, The Knot takes a look back at the cutest celebrity couples to attend the Globes over the past 10 years.
Rosie Huntington-Whiteley and Jason Statham
This beautiful duo saw the red carpet as the perfect opportunity to make their engagement status known. Along with a gorgeous, gold dress, the Victoria’s Secret model debuted her stunning engagement ring from her British actor beau. The bauble caused quite the buzz on social media, but the couple’s reps didn’t confirm their engagement until after the annual event.
John Legend and Chrissy Teigen
After winning the award for Best Original Song, Legend gave an inspirational acceptance speech that touched the hearts of countless people, including his adoring wife. The model’s sad face quickly turned into an internet meme, and she fueled the fire by posting an Instagram snap of herself imitating the expression in a hilarious selfie with her husband.
Matthew McConaughey and Camila Alves
There’s nothing more romantic than a man who freely professes his love for his wife, and McConaughey did just that during his acceptance speech after winning an award for his role in Dallas Buyers Club. The actor thanked his love for encouraging him to follow his dreams.
This talented pair only had eyes for each other while perusing the red carpet. The country star looked adoringly at the Australian actress, who wore a stunning, black dress with a mesh bodice.
Jessica Alba and Cash Warren
Alba joined Kiefer Sutherland onstage to present an award, but the actress’s main man stayed by her side throughout the night. The couple posed for a sweet red carpet photo and rocked ridiculously sweet smiles.
Christina Aguilera and Matthew Rutler
Before their engagement and the birth of their daughter, the singer took her relationship with her guitarist boyfriend to the next level when she brought him along to the Globes. The two looked happy and in love.
Fergie and Josh Duhamel
It may have been a rainy evening on the red carpet, but the songstress had her hunky husband nearby to hold a giant umbrella. The actor sure looked proud (and adorable!) while assisting his beautiful wife.
Despite not winning the award for Best Original Song in a Motion Picture, Beyonce had her biggest fan cheering her on all night. Jay-Z posed proudly beside his new wife. The duo had been married less than a year when they attended the awards show.
The Golden Globe Awards did not take place this year due to the Writers Guild of America strike.
Mark Wahlberg and Rhea Durham
The actor and his love graced the red carpet in style. Durham donned a black, strapless dress, and Wahlberg appeared to be on cloud nine. At the time, the pair had only two of their four children. They went on to marry in August 2009.
