It’s that time of year again. Bachelorette Becca Kufrin’s season is wrapped and will soon appear on small screens everywhere. Naturally, this means another mega tease from longtime Bachelor franchise host Chris Harrison, whose go-to phrase, “the most dramatic finale ever,” actually turned out to be accurate last season with Bachelor Arie Luyendyk Jr.
This past week, Harrison was able to tease Kufrin’s new Bachelorette season—a fresh start after she was unceremoniously dumped on national television by the race car driver. “We are done. I know everything,” Harrison told Entertainment Tonight. “We just wrapped…and May 28 is our premiere. It’s right around the corner. It’s so damn good. It’s such a great season.”
Harrison confirmed Kufrin was a fit for the coveted role of season lead. “She’s a great Bachelorette, the guys are great, the drama’s there, the tears, the ridiculous arguments. It’s good, it’s really good,” he said. He later added of the publicist, “You’re really going to get a better glimpse of the strong, independent woman she is. I think people feel like, ‘Oh, she’s just this nice pushover.’ She is not. She’s a badass woman that can handle her own, trust me, and I’m very defensive of my Bachelorettes. She doesn’t need it. She took care of herself.”
Viewers, however, will be most surprised to hear Harrison utter these words: “Maybe [this season holds] the most ridiculous fight you’ve ever seen in the history of our show, which is saying a lot…” he continued. “It’s just magnificent to watch. It’s going to be one of those [seasons where] you’re watching through your fingers because you’re embarrassed for everybody involved but you can’t stop watching.”
The Bachelorette will return on ABC on May 28 at 8 p.m. ET.
