The mere thought of a world without celebrity super-couple Chrissy Teigen and John Legend has got our heads spinning. In a new interview with Cosmopolitan published November 3, Teigen reveals how her beloved husband once failed to break up with her while they were still dating.
“Early on in the relationship, I was on tour with him and he’d gotten sick,” she told the mag. “He was feeling really bummed and stressed out. He was like, ‘I can’t be in a relationship right now.’”
Legend, however, immediately realized his blunder. “That lasted for one day. Literally, a day,” the Sports Illustrated Swimsuit model shared. “I knew it came from a place other than us not working.”
Thankfully, the two are able to look back and laugh at the moment now. “I always joke, ‘Remember when you tried to break up with me?’” Teigen continued. “He’s like, ‘Yes, sorry. Big mistake.’”
She’ll also occasionally tease her husband and his former flames. “I didn’t know it, but John used to be a notorious modelizer,” Teigen continued in the same interview. “To me, he was the sweetest teddy bear. What’s funny is that I get along with everyone he’s ever been with. I end up really liking them. After I see them, I’ll tell him, ‘Oh, I was on-set with your ex today — it was fun!’ … It was before me, so it’s fine.”
The model and Grammy winner married in Lake Como, Italy, in 2013, following a two-year engagement. The lovebirds recently returned to the destination this past summer—in tow with their sweet baby daughter, Luna Simone. While there, the pair memorably reenacted the scene from Legend’s romantic smash single, “All of Me,” which was written for Teigen.
