Christina Aguilera kicked off fiance Matthew Rutler’s birthday festivities with a sweet serenade. The Grammy winner helped Rutler celebrate on Thursday, April 6, with an intimate family party held eight days before his actual 31st birthday.
The “Genie in a Bottle” singer posted a new Instagram video of her longtime love wearing a festive fedora and birthday-themed glasses while their 2-year-old daughter, Summer, looks on with wonder.
Of course Aguilera lavishes Rutler with love by singing the “Birthday” song. Rutler also appears mesmerized by his cake, modeled after a giant cheeseburger and fries, and their daughter adorably helps him blow out the candles.
Aguilera, 36, and Rutler first met in 2010 on the set of Burlesque, where he worked as a production assistant. The duo got engaged on Valentine’s Day 2014, and their daughter was born six months later.
In a 2016 interview with Women’s Health, the Grammy Award-winning singer revealed that she and Rutler are in no hurry to wed. “We discuss it when we’re snuggling in bed, but it’s a casual conversation,” she shared.
Motherhood is clearly a priority for Aguilera, who shares her 8-year-old son, Max, with ex-husband, Jordan Bratman. Back in February, the Voice coach and Rutler covered their daughter in kisses in an adorable Instagram post.
