It’s been an eventful week for the artist after a resurgence of interest in her 2011 single “Arms.” The moment was sparked after an emotional performance of the single by a 13-year-old girl on America’s Got Talent. The teen, a girl named Evie Clair, revealed on the show this week that she sings the tune to her father, who’s battling stage-4 colon cancer.
Perri, overcome with emotion by Clair’s sweet gesture, tweeted at the AGT contestant late Tuesday. “Hi, @evieclair! thanks so much for choosing my song for this special moment in ur life!” Perri wrote. “Ur incredible! im sending so much love to u & dad.”
