No jokes here. Comedian Whitney Cummings is engaged, she revealed Tuesday, September 4.
The 2 Broke Girls creator took to Instagram to post videos from her fiancé’s outdoor proposal on a ranch. “Today I got engaged,” she expressed alongside footage of her reaction. “I handled it great! This just goes to show that if you work on yourself, trust your gut, and keep your ego in check, you too can find love on a dating app.”
In the accompanying clip, a stunned Cummings jokes she “would have gotten a manicure” if she had known he would propose. “Is this real?!” she added.
Along with the video, Cummings also posted a photo of herself crying and burying her head underneath a straw hat as her boyfriend drops to one knee. The identity of her fiancé still remains a mystery, which may have been foiled by Dan Levy, who identified him as “Miles” on an Instagram Story.
The Whitney star previously opened up about her dating experiences last November while chatting with Conan O’Brien. She shared on the show that through online dating, she had found a boyfriend of 10 months. (There is no confirmation that the man she was dating then is her fiancé.)
“I am not allowing him to see my stand-up comedy,” she told Conan at the time. “I think some things are better kept secret. I don’t look at his porn, he doesn’t look at my stand-up, it’s a very good balance.”
