Oh, father. A newly-engaged couple’s proposal went viral this week all due to family matters.
When Levi Bliss of Winnemucca, Nevada, decided to propose on Saturday, March 24, he invited his girlfriend’s side of the family to support the sentimental moment. Naturally, his future father-in-law, Jake Barron, had a few tricks up his own sleeve.
Bliss proposed to girlfriend of two years Allison Barron in a rather scenic spot, which included rugged mountains, an open field, their puppy Ace, and… Jake, jokingly holding a sign that read “say no.”
The future bride eventually took to Twitter to share photos from the funny moment, and her post has since gone viral with close to 66,000 retweets.

“This is really just my dad’s personality,” Allison told BuzzFeed. “We have a very close family and so he’s made little jokes like this before.”
The future bride recalled how she sobbed when Bliss dropped to one knee, and then, she turned over and saw her father waving the sign. Instantly, her tears turned to hysterical laughter. “We both know my dad so well,” she added. “We got the joke right away and found it funny.”
She added that her fiancé and her dad are “very close.”
“We’ve gone on many trips,” she explained. “And they’ve hung out just the two of them before too, playing tennis, riding dirt bikes, and other activities.”
Now that Barron’s tweet has gone viral, people on Twitter are using the moment to respond with memes of their own.
“Hey, we are going out tonight. Wanna tag along?”

Meanwhile, Allison, of course, said “Yes.”
