It was nearly two decades ago that David and Victoria Beckham married on July 4, 1999, and by now, the adorable spouses have archives filled with amazing throwback photos. To mark their latest anniversary, the two decided to get nostalgic on social media.
Victoria, 43, posted a sweet snap of herself with the former soccer pro, 42, on their wedding day. “I love you. Kisses X,” she wrote. The image features the duo gazing into each other’s eyes and holding their oldest son, Brooklyn, now 18, who was an infant at the time.
The athlete followed up with a pic with his wife, the two donning matching leather gear. “Wow we really did this. Happy Anniversary to an amazing wife. Love you x,” he captioned the snapshot.

David and Victoria married at Luttrellstown Castle on the outskirts of Dublin, Ireland. The fashionista donned a satin Vera Wang ball gown with a 20-foot train.
Although the couple invited only a handful of loved ones to the ceremony, the reception was a lavish affair. Victoria’s fellow Spice Girls were among the notable guests. Bride, groom and baby all changed into matching purple attire for the celebration. Nearly two decades later, the British soccer star openly admits his regret regarding the outfit change.
“Victoria was nice,” he told BBC Radio 4’s Desert Island Discs this past January. “I looked like one of the guys out of Dumb and Dumber when they went to that party. I even had a top hat. Unbelievable. What was I thinking? It was the thing to do around that time.”
The lovebirds share four children, Brooklyn, Romeo, 14, Cruz, 12, and Harper, 5. In March, Victoria told the Today show that the couple’s marriage is still going strong. “I think that he’s my soulmate. We complement each other,” she said. “He’s the most incredible husband, fantastic father. He inspires me every day. Not just seeing him with the children and how he treats me. It just works. We’re lucky to have each other.”
David credits the couple’s parents for instilling strong values in he and Victoria. “We all know marriage is difficult at times, and it’s about working through it,” he told the radio show. “Whenever we’ve come up against tough times, we know each other better than anybody knows us. We have an amazing life which we are very respectful of. We are also private people.”
The proud husband and father also revealed that the pair renewed their vows in a super-secret ceremony in their home. “We have renewed our vows since [the wedding],” he concluded. “It was a lot more private with only six people there in our house.”
