Saying goodbye to those bachelor days. Major League Baseball veteran Derek Jeter married Sports Illustrated swimsuit model, Hannah Davis, on Saturday, July 9.
The duo exchanged vows in a private ceremony in Napa, California, on the beautiful summer day.
In a release to The Knot and other outlets, Vera Wang confirmed that Davis, 26, wore a custom mermaid gown with a tulle high-neck halter and plunging back. The cover model stunned in layers of tulle and hand-appliqued Chantilly lace.
“Vera’s actually designing my dress, that’s why I was at the show today,” Davis previously told Entertainment Tonight. “Ever since I was little, I think it was the first bridal brand I even know, and I’ve been a fan of hers ever since and my heart was set on it. She was gracious enough to do it for me.”
After becoming Mrs. Derek Jeter, the new bride changed into a second Vera Wang dress to celebrate the couple’s reception. This time, she donned a custom V-neck charmeuse halter gown with white illusion tulle detailing at the waist and a silk georgette A-line skirt.
Jeter and Davis managed to keep their wedding date a secret despite much speculation over when the happy couple would make their union official. In fact, they even kept their engagement under wraps until the soon-to-be groom spilled the beans on his website late last fall.
In a tribute to his pup, Kane, Jeter, 42, wrote a heartfelt post explaining how the Mastiff had grown on him since his retirement from the New York Yankees. In the post, the former shortstop shared that the dog was a gift from his fiancée. Before that, no one knew that the former baseball pro was engaged. The pair began planning, and remained mum about their upcoming summer wedding.
Prior to their engagement, Jeter and Davis dated for three years. They stepped out together for the first time as a couple at the Met Gala in May 2015.
