This Minnesota couple’s engagement photo shoot went to the dogs, or rather, their dog Louie when he epically photobombed his newly-engaged owners.
It was Tuesday, October 13 when Megan Determan and Chris Kluthe decided to have their engagement photos taken at a park near their home in St. Paul, the couple’s professional photographer Karen Berdal told ABC News. But then the seemingly-ordinary shoot turned into something a bit more hilarious.
Berdal, who co-owns DnK Photography with her husband Dan, said in her interview with ABC News, “He had no clue what he was creating for us, but once we got that picture, we were cracking up. I think Megan’s response was ‘Well, that’s Louie. He’s a show stopper.’”
The photographers who captured the incredible dog photobomb said that the shoot started like any other, until Louie the miniature dachshund had a better plan.
“Megan and Chris just sit down and start our normal engagement session,” Berdal said. “We sat him down to take a few pictures and Louie started jumping in and out of the leaves and in front of the camera.”
Berdal’s husband and photographer Dan said in an email to the Huffington Post, “Most of the time we’re just trying to get dogs engage rather than trying to chase squirrels, but Louie was ready to play!”
In one photo, Louie is completely blocking out the Chris which Dan said was “fitting” because, “Louie was originally Megan’s dog, and he’s a little jealous of having to share her attention.”
Neither the couple nor the photographers guessed that Louie would make such a big impact on the photos, let alone become an internet sensation.
On the DnK Photography blog the Berdals shared the couple’s photos writing, “Megan and Chris mentioned that Louie enjoyed playing in the leaves, but I wasn’t quite ready for HOW MUCH! I was hoping for a fun photo of Louie playing in the foreground of the photo with the couple looking at him, but Louie launched himself right in front of the camera.”
Dan later told the Huffington Post, “I was shooting photos like crazy trying to capture the right expression, and had no idea what he’d done until I was looking at photos a few minutes later.”
“We knew it was hilarious, but we had no idea that it’d be this hilarious to everybody else,” Berdal said to ABC News.
The couple, who have been together since 2011, plan on getting married in December, and we can only guess that Louie will have a starring role in their ceremony as well.
