Mates for life! Duck Dynasty star Reed Robertson married his longtime love, Brighton Thompson, on Saturday, October 29. The pair exchanged vows outdoors while standing under an arch of flowers in a clearing in the woods on a beautiful autumn day.
The 21-year old groom donned a classic navy suit, and his bride looked lovely in a lace white gown with cap-sleeves and a long train.
After making their union official, the newlyweds set off for their honeymoon, but apparently their vacation plans didn’t go as expected. Robertson took to Instagram on Sunday to describe a series of misfortunate post-wedding events.
I married my best friend yesterday. Brighton and I’s first day of marriage has been, well, interesting. Got kicked off our flight at 5 am, ate Popeyes for lunch, saw a terrible movie, and missing 2 days of our honeymoon because of it and I couldn’t be more thrilled to adventure with you Brighton. Today and for the rest of my life.
“I married my best friend yesterday,” he captioned a shot of the duo kissing after the nuptials. “Brighton and I’s first day of marriage has been, well, interesting. Today and for the rest of my life.”
Thompson also shared a gorgeous snap of the happy duo. “Wow did this really just happen,” she wrote alongside an image of them kissing as wedding guests threw confetti to see them off on their honeymoon excursion. “Our wedding was the most fun party OF MY LIFE. So excited to start this new adventure with my new husband. (LOTS more pictures to come).”

The Robertson clan publicly congratulated the spouses. “Congratulations to the newest Robertson couple!!!” John Luke’s wife, Mary Kate Robertson captioned an Instagram snap of herself standing next to the bride. “I love you both so much and am so proud of you and excited for you! Brighton it was quite the honor to stand by you … so thankful to have you as one of my best friends and now cousins!!”
The groom’s mother, Missy, also took to Instagram to share a heartfelt message alongside a collage of photos from the wedding. “Impossible to put into one post all of the wonderful moments of last night, but here are a few,” she penned. “I’ll post more later as I am a very proud and blessed mama! #ReedLovesBrighton #BlessedBlessedBlessed.” The collage included images of the newlyweds exchanging vows, walking down the aisle, and cutting their 4-tier wedding cake. In one sweet shot, Robertson sang for his bride.

Earlier this year, the adorable duo spoke with The Knot and shared their sweet engagement photos. At that point, they had been dating for nearly five years, “so it is definitely an accomplishing feeling to be moving towards marriage,“ Thompson noted. “Just knowing without a doubt that I’m going to be spending the rest of my life with Reed is my favorite part.”
The wedding celebration began days before the couple walked down the aisle. Thompson enjoyed a bachelorette weekend of spa treatments with friends and family members (girls only!), while Robertson put last-minute touches on his wedding day wardrobe.
Along with their newlywed status, Robertson and his bride have a lot to look forward to! Thompson was just accepted to nursing school, and Duck Dynasty returns for its eleventh season on November 16 on A&E.
