Darling, they are perfect. Grammy winner Ed Sheeran is engaged to longtime girlfriend Cherry Seaborn, he announced Saturday, January 20.
Sheeran took to Instagram to post a vintage-inspired photo of himself kissing Seaborn on the nose. “Got myself a fiancé just before new year,” he revealed. “We are very happy and in love, and our cats are chuffed as well xx.” The couple share two cats named Calipo and Dorito.
Interestingly enough, Seaborn, who works in finance, also serves as the inspiration behind Sheeran’s beloved latest single, “Perfect”—a favorite amongst couples at weddings.
The couple started dating officially in summer 2015. Seaborn was invited at the time to Taylor Swift’s annual, star-studded July 4th weekend at her home in Watch Hill, Rhode Island. She again made an appearance the following year at the same annual Independence Day bash, where both Sheeran and Seaborn crashed a couple’s engagement party moment. (Swift, however, doubled up on the party to help mark Sheeran and Seaborn’s first anniversary as well.)
“She’s really cool,” Sheeran told Ellen DeGeneres last December. “We have two cats but they’re both really, really strange creatures. They kind of sit up like humans. It’s really strange. You’ll walk in and they’ll be looking at you.”
