In December 2013, their characters, Emily Thorne and Daniel Grayson, married in a gorgeous Hamptons-approved ceremony on ABC’s mid-season finale. Much like Pippa Middleton’s upcoming nuptials to James Matthews, the Thorne-Grayson wedding was the society spotlight of the year.
As evidenced by the photos provided by Disney, the two made a stunning bride and groom despite their tumultuous, drama-filled courtship.
The TV nuptials showcased VanCamp’s character in a romantic wedding gown created by the show’s costume designer, Jill Ohannesson. The elegant, strapless dress was perfectly accompanied by a matching lace-trimmed veil that framed her loose, wavy tresses.
The heiress–whose quiet quest for revenge consumed the entire series–wore classic, understated jewelry on her wedding day with a delicate trio of pearl bracelets. Just as impressive was the newlyweds’ six-tier wedding cake, which featured intricate ivory lace with pearls accented by pastel flowers.
VanCamp and Bowman’s upcoming off-screen nuptials are sure to deliver a completely different vibe. This time around, plotting and tragic endings will undoubtedly be replaced by happiness and love. VanCamp shared some of the details from the proposal on Monday, saying: “He did good. It was in a forest. We were in nature on a hike kind of doing what we do. It was very us.”
The actors, who started dating in late 2011, tend to keep their romance private. “Josh and I keep it all very separate,” VanCamp told Elle Canada in 2014. “I barely talk about him in interviews, to be honest.”
The future bride announced the couple’s engagement news via Instagram on May 11 in the sweetest and most subtle of ways. In an artful image, the actress covered her face with her hands and showed off her new diamond bauble.
