Beauty and the Beast may be a tale as old as time, but Emma Watson is an enchanting modern-day princess. While the award-winning actress, 26, is mesmerizing audiences by channeling her inner Belle, she’s proving her off-screen style is equally captivating.
In the lead up to the March 17 premiere of the live action film, Watson’s red carpet looks were documented on The Press Tour’s Instagram page, an account dedicated to documenting the actress’ earth-friendly, off-screen attire. As we celebrate the Disney remake’s successful opening weekend, we’re reflecting on Watson’s top five noteworthy red carpet looks.
The Paris Premiere
For the first-ever public screening in Paris on February 19, the starlet donned a satin, embroidered Oscar de la Renta bustier and black, organic wool trousers. The ensemble also featured a bright red, organic silk sash.
The actress opted for handmade Italian Burberry pumps made with organic silk. She wore her hair loose around her shoulders, and a classic, red lip.
The London Premiere
For the film’s London premiere on February 23, the fashionista stunned in an off-the-shoulder, bespoke gown and matching cape by Emilia Wickstead. The one-of-a-kind piece was created from unwanted fabrics by an all-female team.
Watson accessorized with simple hoop earrings by Brooklyn-based jeweler, Catbird, and swept her hair into an elegant updo for the premiere.
The Shanghai Premiere
Just when we thought she couldn’t possibly be more beautiful, the A-lister stepped out for the Chinese premiere at Shanghai’s Disneyland in yet another whimsical gown and cloak on February 27. The illusion piece by Elie Saab Couture was designed with nearly 50′ of tulle, silk thread embroidery, sequins, and intricate beading.
Watson opted for sneakers by Veja, a brand which uses only organic materials. She topped off her red carpet look with loose waves framing her face, and red lipstick.
The Los Angeles Premiere
Rather than don another princess-worthy gown, Watson showcased her bold, sexy side at the Hollywood premiere on March 2. The Harry Potter actress wore a black, strapless jumpsuit from Oscar de la Renta’s Fall 2017 ready-to-wear collection, and wore her hair in a sleek updo created by stylist Adir Abergel.
The NYC Premiere
Just one day before Beauty and the Beast hit theaters around the world, Watson attended the red carpet premiere of the film in New York City. She wore a black Givenchy mega bow dress made from certified organic silk, and carried an eco-friendly clutch from sustainable luxury brand, BOTTLETOP.
Watson accessorized with jewelry from Ana Khouri, and pulled her hair back to showcase her gown’s unique neckline.
