It’s in good hands. Five months ago, actress Emmy Rossum wore a custom Carolina Herrera gown as she married director Sam Esmail in New York City. The question now remains: where did that beautiful piece go?
After an eventful ceremony, followed by a lavish reception at the famed Guggenheim Museum off Central Park, Rossum entrusted her wedding dress to a cleaner—who happens to have a connection to a Real Housewife. “My dress is actually strangely at Dorinda Medley’s boyfriend John’s cleaners now,” Rossum told People this week. “Apparently he is the best dry cleaner in New York!”
Medley is one of the current cast members of Bravo’s The Real Housewives of New York City. Her boyfriend, John Mahdessian, is the force behind famed Manhattan-based cleaner Madame Paulette, who happens to be self aware of his skills. “I’m an institution—I have over 80 active billionaires, I ship worldwide every day,” Mahdessian previously told Racked. “Maybe for people in Arkansas or Indiana, places where they may not know that a company like mine exists … if you’re a real connoisseur, you do your homework. We get recommended from all the designer boutiques on Madison Avenue, from all the interior designers.”
Rossum’s gown—a white, classic, off-the-shoulder gown by Herrera complete with a beautiful train and Guggenheim-inspired bodice—will have its moment as well. The actress previously opened up about the design aspect of her wedding gown. “I went in, and Mrs. Herrera and I talked about silhouettes she’d done for bridal and silhouettes I’d worn before,” Rossum said to Vogue. “I knew I’d be getting married at the temple, which is quite grand, and that the reception would be at the Guggenheim, so we knew that it needed to be a dress that could hold up to that. And it was Mrs. Herrera’s idea to make it quite modern and fresh, and kind of use the shape of the Guggenheim on the bodice.”
No words can describe the love and joy that filled this weekend ✨

For her bridal beauty look, Rossum’s makeup artist Jo Baker chose a natural look. Her hairstyle Ryan Trygstad chose a clean updo, which Herrera herself recommends. The bride added a cathedral veil by Carolina Herrera to round it out.
Now that she’s married, the star shared what her beauty routine is like within the comfort of her own home. “My husband’s favorite thing about my face is the blue vein under my eye, so I don’t often wear under eye concealer in my everyday life because he likes to be able to see my actual face,” she said to People. “So I think it’s the idea of being true to yourself and being the best version of yourself and not the best version of somebody else.”
