This is truly his Small Town Family Dream. Country singer Josh Abbott is officially married to his love, Taylor Parnell. The couple married at Brazos Hall in Austin, Texas, on Sunday, July 8, before 250 family members and friends.
The groom’s brother, Chance Abbott, put his everyday role as a pastor to use and officiated the wedding for the pair. Pastor Chance wasn’t the only family member to have a role in the nuptials: Abbott and Parnell’s sweet 14-month-old daughter, Emery, served as one of the flowers girls.
The pair intentionally chose a venue that was easy to access for the convenience of their guests—particularly, their beloved family members. “We considered the Hill country,” Parnell says. “I had looked at several venues, but Brazos Hall stood out from the beginning of the process for its versatility and location downtown.”

The bride and groom tasked wedding planner Becky Navarro with coordinating everything from the event design to the day-of logistics. They asked their guests that in lieu of gifts or monetary gifts, that they would lovingly consider donating to a non-profit organization called JABCares.
The purpose behind the charity registry decision was due to a tragic accident in 2017, after Abbott’s close friend from college passed away in a car accident. The funds from the nonprofit will be used to start an endowment scholarship in conjunction with the Texas Tech University named after that individual, Brand Peters.
“Isn’t that better than asking for a bunch of kitchen equipment?” the couple tells The Knot. “We think so.”

Abbott and Parnell first met in downtown Austin during a random night out. “I remember thinking how cute and put-together she was,” he says. “we finally went on our first date on May 9, 2017.” Abbott proposed nearly a year ago.
“I love this girl so much,” he concludes. “And I’m eternally grateful for her being on this earth and in my life.
